Kathy Wheeler, PhD, RN, APRN, FNP-BC, FNAP, FAANP, recently retired from teaching in the DNP Program at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, but volunteers at Mission Frankfort, a clinic that serves the underserved in Frankfort, Kentucky. She has presented and published extensively nationally and internationally. Areas of practice, interest, and research include health policy, international NP/APN issues, diabetes care, medication adherence, credentialing and competence, and the future of advanced practice. After many years serving as the AANP Region 4 Director, AANP Kentucky State Representative, Treasurer of AANP, Board Liaison to the AANP International Committee, and Co-Chair of the AANP International Special Interest Group she now serves as a member of the AANP International Committee. Additionally, she is a Co-Chair of the ICN NP/APN Network Health Policy Subgroup.
