Elda G Ramirez
PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAEN, FAAN
Elda Ramirez was born in Laredo, Texas on the boarder to Mexico. She received her master's degree as a family nurse practitioner in 1993. Her practice focus has been in the emergency department where she has pioneered the role of the nurse practitioner in emergency care. Her innovative clinical methodologies have influenced clinical practice for nurse practitioners internationally. In 2013 she founded the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners. The basis of her research in defining ENP competencies was the foundation for the ENP certification examination by AANP-CB. She is a Diversity Equity and Inclusion champion in her State of Texas and nationally.
