Michael H Ackerman
DNS, RN, APRN-BC, FCCM, FNAP, FAANP
Michael Ackerman is currently a Senior Advanced Practice Nurse, University of Rochester Medical Center and director of the Center for Clinical Trials and Medical Device Evaluation for the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery. He is a certified acute care nurse practitioner and has over 25 years of clinical nursing in critical care. Dr. Ackerman presents frequently on a variety of clinical topics, including sepsis, and has published on advanced practice nursing, critical care technology and care of the elderly in critical care, among other topics. He is recognized as an expert clinician and educator. Dr. Ackerman is an active member of several national organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Society of Critical Care Medicine and Sigma Theta Tau. He is a fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine and in the National Academy of Practice.
