Nancy T. Browne has practiced as a PNP in pediatric surgery and pediatric weight management for 29 years. Ms. Browne, a member of the American Academy of Nursing, The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), and the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), is involved in clinical best practice, advocacy and policy initiatives related to pediatric obesity care within each of these organizations. Numerous publications and national presentations include the obesity pathophysiology, weight bias, association of obesity and racism, and consequences of inequities in social determinants of health. Ms. Browne holds an OMA Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine as well as an AANP Obesity Certificate.Ms. Browne is a Fellow of the Obesity Medicine Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing. Ms. Browne is the current Co-Chair of the AANP Obesity Specialty Practice Group.
