In Memoriam (1954 -2022)

Dr. Adkins was a family nurse practitioner/owner and operator of Adkins Family Practice LLC, a walk in clinic for an acute and chronic medical home with an emphasis on disease prevention. She had served in this position for the past 15 years and has established herself in the community and continues to work with multidisciplinary colleagues in the care of her patients. Dr. Adkin's contributions to NP practice has been represented by her active political presence and continued effort to shape the scope of practice for all APRNs in Illinois. She received the ISAPN award twice and the AANP Excellence Award. She was a author in nursing and nurse practitioner textbooks, recently for Lippincott and Springer.
