Bimbola
Akintade PhD, earned his bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees at the
University of Maryland School of Nursing UMSON). In addition, he earned
an MBA and MHA from the University of Maryland University College. He
is a Professor and Dean of the East Carolina University College of
Nursing. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse
Practitioners. He is a pioneer Board Member, Research Committee Chair
and Finance Committee Member of the Doctors of Nursing Practice of
Color. He was also the pioneer faculty mentor for the American
Association of Men in Nursing at the University of Maryland School of
Nursing Chapter for 6 years.
A
well-rounded clinician with leadership experience in a variety of
settings including universities and tertiary care hospitals. Strong
management and business skills grounded in evidence-based practice,
clinical outcomes and a service-oriented philosophy. The impact of his
work as a leader, an expert clinician and outstanding educator is
evident in his various peer reviewed publications, authored book
chapters as well as invited and selected presentations. His professional
contributions have been recognized through several professional awards
and acknowledgements.
