John W Distler
DPA, MBA, MS, FNP-C, FAANP
John Distler is currentlyProfessor of Nurse Practitioner tracks at Chamberlain College of Nursing. He is the past Graduate Department Chair and Nurse Practitioner Program Director for South University online and program director for the University of Maryland Family Nurse Practitioner Program in Baltimore.
Dr. Distler received his family nurse practitioner certificate from the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Sacramento. His master's degree is from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and he has a post-master's certificate in Teaching in Nursing. He received the Doctor of Public Administration program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Dr. Distler received his Master in Business Administration degree from Argosy University.
Dr. Distler is the 3 term Maryland State Representative for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and recipient of the AANP Health Policy Internship grant in 2005 and the Astra Zeneca Asthma grant in 2007.
His research interests include the development of innovative advanced practice nurse teaching strategies, clinical competence, and critical thinking.
He currently practices in Asthma, Allergy and Immunology in Westminster, MD.
