Dr. Angi Thompson is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care and management of adolescents and adults with diabetes & diabetes-related conditions at Hendricks Endocrinology in Danville, Indiana,  She also serves as the Medical Director of the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana. Dr. Thompson is active in advocacy and health care policy is the past Legislative and Health Policy Director for the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana (CAPNI) and past Indiana State Representative for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  She serves in many leadership capacities including AANP Region 5 Director, 2021 AANP National Conference Chair, Co-Chair of the AANP Endocrine SPG, and President of CAPNI. Additionally she serves as a national speaker on diabetes and was awarded the Diabetes Educator of the Year Award in 2009 and the 2010 Indianapolis Star Salute to Nurses Award.
