Ms. Thomas is Past President of Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP) and AANP-Louisiana Representative. Under her Presidency, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners' membership increased from 800 to more than 1300, and fundraising garnered over $90,000 for LANP's PAC. She formed the LANP NP-Marketing Committee, launching an unprecedented $200,000 NP-marketing campaign. Her care of Louisianans in Hurricane-Katrina increased NP visibility in the media. Ms. Thomas was spokesperson for the NP-profession in Money Magazine (Mar-2011) and appeared on NBC-News with Brian Williams, discussing healthcare impacts of the Gulf-oil spill. The interview aired on 110-NBC stations to an audience of 4.9-million. She received her BSN in 1993 from University of Louisiana-Monroe, and MN in 1996 from LSU Medical Center-New Orleans.
