Dr. Resnick is currently the Associate Dean of Research
and the Sonya Ziporkin Gershowitz Chair in Gerontology at the University of
Maryland School of Nursing, maintains a clinical practice currently in
housecalls, assisted living and senior housing communities, and teaches clinical
courses Adult Gerontological Nurse Practitioner students and mentors students
across all disciplines in doctoral studies. Dr. Resnick incorporates research
into her practice with a special focus on health promotion activities,
particularly in motivating older adults to engage in physical
activity, immunizations and other behaviors, and in implementation of
interventions across settings of care. She has had continual funding from the
National Institutes of Health and a number of Foundations including the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation and the Stulman Foundation. Dr. Resnick helped
establish the FAANP and held board positions for many years as well as serving
on the board of the AANP. Further she has led leadership roles in a number of
interdisciplinary organizations.
