In Memoriam (1942-2019)
Mona Counts, PhD, CRNP, FNAP, FAANP, was the Elouise Ross Eberly Professor at
the Penn State University, School of Nursing. Dr. Counts had been instrumental
in the development of NP curricula across the country from 1970 and had helped
build and change curriculum over time.
In addition, Dr. Counts developed one of the first NP run
rural practices. Over the years Dr. Counts has paved the way for independent
practice with regard to reimbursement issues and served as a role model for
faculty practice.
