| I did not realize that the ANCC gave reciprocity to NPs who successfully passed the AANP exam and also have an option to expedite an application. For $200, the ANCC will process the application in 5 business days. I contacted the AANP, and they responded very quickly to my email. They do not offer reciprocity for recently ANCC certified NPs and they do not have the option to expedite an application. Mr Boca did say that the turnaround time is only 2 - 4 weeks.

Mr Meadows,
While I appreciate your reply and the AANP attempt to improve the process,I do not believe there has been much improvement in the certification process. I graduated in January 2010 and sent my application for certification 1/2/10. It took 3 months and many e mails for AANP to send approval to test. Once I had the letter, I had no difficulty scheduling a time slot with Pro metrics. The computer said "passed" and it is now 5 weeks later, many more emails and phone calls, and I still do not have official scores. The board of nursing cannot issue my license and the job that has been waiting for my license is on hold. My experience is not unique. My classmates have reported similar issues.
Thank you. Nancy
