I have some new NP Grads that are really frusterated with this. There is a disconnect between the testing center and the wonerful services provided by AANP. My hope is we can do something to prevent other new grads from losing job opportunities. In our state a temporary license is not granted until a testing date is confirmed. Please post your experiences.

Mentors

My name is Celeste Michaud and I just started my journey from RN to NP this fall. I joined the AANP to have access to conference, research, continuing ed information. I was also interested in professional networking and the FAANP mentoring program, but see that this particular program is for certified and licensed NPs. If anyone has information on student mentorship programs could you please pass along this information?Thank you!

Preceptors

Hi everyone,
I am in the last semester of my MSN program, and I have had great difficulty finding APNs who are willing to be preceptors. My school does not have the clinical hours arranged for us. We have to locate preceptors within our own community. Does any one have any advice or know of anyone in the Murfreesboro, Tn area that might be willing to act as a preceptor? Murfreesboro is 35 miles southeast of Nashville, Tn.

Thank you so much,

Debbie Barnette

NP Certification reivew courses

I was wondering what the groups' experience has been regarding the NP Certification review courses, i.e. Fitzgerald. Also, is there a benefit to taking one during your final year of studies or should one just wait until after graduation? I'm starting clinicals soon and am always looking for a way to be safer and more knowledgeable!

Will R.

2009 NP week activities

Where is information about the 2009 NP week activities?
