FDA Announcement on Enforcement Actions Stakeholder Webinar for the Public Health Community Today and Responsible Retailer Pledge

FDA has reached a new milestone in our ongoing efforts to protect kids from tobacco. FDA has conducted more than 27,500 inspections of tobacco retail establishments. Most retail establishments inspected by the FDA have been found to be in compliance with the law.   However, 1,200 Warning Letters have been issued to tobacco retailers who are not following the law. The fact that our nation’s youth can walk into more than 1,200 tobacco retail locations and still obtain access to these deadly products is 1,200 too many. Read our press release.

You Can Help

Pledge to Protect Kids
Everyone from teachers, coaches and physicians, to retailers, parents and public health professionals, and religious leaders plays a role in keeping tobacco out of the hands of youth. Take the pledge to protect our nation’s youth by supporting retailers who follow the law and do not sell tobacco to youth.

Our goal: Reach 500 pledges by the new year, and we need your help. Share the Break the Chain of Tobacco Addiction Pledge with your friends, by selecting the “Spread the Pledge” tab on the top of the pledge for links to easily share it on your social networks.

Check Out Neighborhood Retailers
Search FDA’s Compliance Check Inspections of Tobacco Product Retailers webpage for tobacco retailers, listed by name and location, to see how your neighborhood checks out. Let your local establishments know you appreciate their efforts to comply and protect our kids.
